On May 2, 2022, a leaked document revealed that the US Supreme Court would soon overturn Roe V Wade, sending women's rights in America back 50 years. Within days, women's groups, social justice organizations and activists of all kinds had organized protests and taken to the streets. In Boston, Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights NE, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU had succeeded in rallying thousands of abortion rights believers — women, men, nurses, patients, mothers, daughters — to attend events throughout the city. Speakers energized crowds with condemnation of the Supreme Court for what appears to be a political act with no respect for precedent; the Republican Party for its misogynistic ways; and the Biden administration for for not doing enough. Anger, fear, frustration and sadness was palpable everywhere.
